Augustana women lose in NCAA Div II Final Four

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- The Augustana College women's basketball team has come up short in its bid for a national championship.
• The Vikings lost to Dowling College 76-54 in the NCAA Division II tournament semifinals Wednesday night. Dowling moves on to Friday's title game against Ashland.
• Augustana ends the season with a 28-7 record.

Alice Cooper, Doors guitarist to play at academy

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- A pair of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members will be in South Dakota Thursday night for a concert benefiting a rock academy for Sioux Falls Boys & Girls Clubs members.
• Alice Cooper will be joined on stage by Robby Krieger of The Doors and a veritable who's who of '80s glam and metal to help open the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy. Also scheduled to perform are Joey Allen of Warrant, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer of Kiss and former Skid Row front man Sebastian Bach.
• Chuck Brennan, the Dollar Loan Center founder who created the academy, says the all-star band plans to perform Kiss songs, some Doors songs with Cooper signing the Jim Morrison parts, a full Alice Copper set and a little Skid Row.

State lawmaker to run for SD lands commissioner

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- Republican state Rep. Jim Bolin of Canton says he will run for the office of South Dakota Commissioner of School and Public Lands.
• Bolin says he will seek the Republican Party's nomination to run for the office next year. He says that means he will not seek re-election to the Legislature.
• The Office of School and Public Lands manages a trust fund, grazing leases on state-owned lands and leases on mineral rights held by the state. Income is distributed to schools.
