Sioux Falls Pheasants changing names to Canaries

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- The Sioux Falls Pheasants are returning to the Canaries.
• Sioux Falls Sports LLC, which owns the Pheasants, announced Tuesday that the organization is changing the baseball team's name back to the Canaries.
• Canaries CEO and President Tom Garrity says that since the ownership purchased the franchise last May, the community has made it apparent that they missed the Canaries. He says the organization is eager to get the season started and build off what it started last year.
• The club also unveiled the team logos for the Canaries, as well as promotional nights and new ticket options.
• The Canaries season begins on May 16. The first home game is May 17.

Attorney general will probe Fairview acquisition

• ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Attorney General Lori Swanson is examining a potential acquisition of Fairview Health Services by a South Dakota-based company, citing her concern that putting one of the state's largest hospital systems in the hands of an outsider is not in the best interests of Minnesotans.
• Swanson announced Tuesday that she will hold public hearings at the state Capitol starting April 7. She said she expects Fairview and Sanford Health to explain the motives behind a deal and how it may affect Minnesotans' health and the state's economy.
• "The notion that an out-of-state organization potentially could be looking at taking over ... is concerning," Swanson said. "Where does the money go? What happens to the institution we know as Fairview?"
