Sioux Falls schools to buy Chromebooks, iPads

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- The school district in South Dakota's largest city plans to spend more than $7 million over the next two years to update technology used by students.
• Sioux Falls students from kindergarten through 12th grade will be getting either Google Chromebooks or Apple iPads. The school district will buy nearly 23,000 of the devices, and spend about $48,000 training teachers how to use them.
• The Argus Leader newspaper reports that the upgrade is spurred by South Dakota's pending move to online standardized tests.
• The School Board is expected to formally approve the purchases during the upcoming budget process.

Last college baseball games at Metrodome this week

• MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Metrodome is hosting its final college baseball games this week.
• The University of Minnesota will play its last baseball game at the Dome ever on Wednesday. The Golden Gophers will take on South Dakota at 6:35 p.m.
• The Dome's college baseball schedule wraps up Saturday with a game between North Dakota State and North Dakota.
• The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority has been getting calls from colleges looking to book baseball games in early April if the weather doesn't clear up.
• Plans call for the Metrodome to be torn down early next year to make way for the Minnesota Vikings' new stadium. The Vikings' new stadium will be designed to accommodate a baseball field.
