White River repeats as Class B champions

• ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) -- White River earned a repeat state title with a 63-51 victory Saturday over Viborg-Hurley at the South Dakota boys Class B basketball tournament.
• Joe Cameron and Wyatt Krogman combined for 34 points in the victory. Cameron scored a game-high 18 and Krogman added 16 as four players scored in double figures for White River (25-1). Travis Burbank and Nic Waln each added 10 points.
• Tyler Gerdes led Viborg-Hurley (23-3) with 15 points and Trevor Jacobsen had 14 points. The Cougars finished as state runner-up for the second straight season.
• White River won its second straight title and third in three years. The Tigers have played in the title game six straight years, winning titles in 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2013. They also won a title in 1955.

Roosevelt finishes third in Class AA

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Brandon Boggs scored 14 points to lead Sioux Falls Roosevelt to a 52-41 victory over Sioux Falls Lincoln in the third-place game of the South Dakota boys Class AA basketball tournament.
• Chris Phillips added nine points and Nate Cole eight as Roosevelt (23-2) built a 33-16 halftime lead and went on to post a victory over the Patriots on Saturday.
• Nermin Krdzalik and Adam Jaros each had nine points to pace Lincoln (13-13).
• Roosevelt shot 37 percent from the field and Lincoln shot 35 percent.

Dupree takes third in state Class B basketball

• ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) -- Nate Widow had 20 points to lead Dupree to third place Saturday at the South Dakota boys Class B basketball tournament with a 64-51 win over South Central.
• Widow was especially effective from the free-throw line for the Tigers (24-2), going 9-for-11. As a team, Dupree hit 18 of 22 shots from the line. It shot 51 percent from the floor.
• Kash Deal chipped in 12 points for the Tigers.
• South Central's Tyler Frank scored 20 points to lead the Cougars (22-4). Sam Hazen added 16 points and nine rebounds.
