• Ponder said in an interview this week he doesn't think it's paramount to add more experience but acknowledged he wouldn't mind throwing to a polished, versatile wide receiver like Jennings.
• "He's as great player. He's been doing great things in Green Bay, and he'd bring leadership to that position," Ponder said. "Kind of a dynamic guy you can put in the slot and outside. I've always admired his work in Green Bay, and he seems like a great guy to have on a team."
• Plenty of money has been flying around the NFL the last few days for wide receivers, beginning with Mike Wallace's big contract with Miami. Wes Welker went to Denver, and Danny Amendola replaced him in New England. Donnie Avery signed with Kansas City. By waiting during the initial wave, the Vikings ought to get a lower price for Jennings if he's willing to come to a team with a still-developing quarterback in Ponder.

Sioux Falls man claims $6K Wild Card 2 prize

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- A Sioux Falls man has claimed a $6,002 prize from a Wild Card 2 drawing.
• South Dakota lottery officials say Melvin Feuerstein matched five of five white ball numbers but not the Wild Card to win the game's second prize in Wednesday's drawing. He also had two of five white ball numbers and the Wild Card on another play line to win an additional $2.
• The odds of winning are about one in 127,000.
• Wild Card 2 is played in Idaho, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota. The jackpot currently sits at $240,000 for the next Wild Card 2 drawing on Saturday.
• SD man dies when vehicle collides with train
• WAUBAY, S.D. (AP) -- A 38-year-old Waubay man died when his vehicle collided with a train in the northeastern South Dakota town.
• The Highway Patrol says Jason Campbell's vehicle slid on the icy roadway Wednesday afternoon and into the path of the BNSF Railway train. He put the vehicle in reverse but was unable to back clear of the tracks in time.
• Campbell was taken to a hospital in Webster and later transferred to one in Fargo, N.D., where he died.
• The train engineer was not hurt.
