• ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) -- The Augusta women's basketball team has captured the first conference title in school history. • The Vikings claimed the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference crown with an 81-73 victory over Minnesota State-Mankato Saturday in championship game of the league tournament. • The Argus Leader reports (http://argusne.ws/13MzgGy ) that longtime head coach Dave Krauth wore a wide smile as he cut down the final strand of the net during the celebration in Rochester, Minn. • Vikings senior Alex Feeney, from Bismarck, N.D., says the team wanted to win the title for Krauth, who owns nearly 500 wins, nine straight 20-win seasons and now 13 NCAA tournament appearances. • Augustana will take a 24-6 record into tournament play. •
Rapid City mayor announced re-election with rally
• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- Rapid City Mayor Sam Kooiker picked his 39th birthday to start his next campaign. • Kooiker announced his bid for re-election Saturday with a small rally near Halley Park. He and family members held up campaign signs and waved to passing motorists. • Kooiker was first elected to city council in 2002. He ran for mayor in 2007, but lost in a runoff to Alan Hanks. Kooiker defeated Hanks in 2011. • Kooiker says his goals for the next two years are improving infrastructure, economic development and streamlining city government. •
