Yogurt shop in Aberdeen on Saturday, February 23rd.  We also did a bit of shopping.  That evening Becky headed to Britton with her Don and April to dance to the music of the Greg Hanson Band at Tylers.  My Don joined me in Aberdeen and we had supper at El Mazatlan.  Andrea and Shawn joined us after supper for a few relaxed games of bowling and we all had a wonderful time.
• On January 25,26 and 27th the Lake Region Pheasant Restoration Club sponsored their annual coyote hunt.  There were 78 hunters that participated with a record number of 22 teams.  They eliminated 25 coyotes on the first day and 13 on the second day of the event.
• The club also held a planning meeting Sunday evening, February 24th to discuss details for the upcoming pheasant restoration fundraiser being held at the Langford Legion Hall April 6th.  Be sure to mark your calendars as this is a fun filled evening you won't want to miss!
• During the bright sunny daylight hours on February 24th, 47 snowmobilers gathered in Claremont to participate in a poker run.  The funds raised will be used to purchase the fireworks for the July 4th celebration this summer in Claremont.  I spoke with Shane Johnson and he was happy to report that the run was very successful with only a few breakdowns and no injuries.  When all was said and done Lincoln Gibbs and Mark Hanse were dealt some pretty impressive cards but Spencer Hatzenbeller ended up with the Top Hand.  Shane wanted to make sure a special thank you went out to the people on the pick up crews and they were Don and Virgie Vander Vorst, Doug Svatos, Jr Patterson and Kay Burnt.
• I have reached the bottom of the pile of notes I had so it's time to say goodbye.  Email me at beverlypatterson555@yahoo.com, call me at 605-294-5874 or 701-680-7255 and let me know what's been going on in your world.  March is coming and it sometimes brings some rather wintery weather with it so just in case it does, here's a line to get you thinking positively: An optimist is someone who falls off the Empire State Building and after 50 floors says, "so far so good!"  I say we take each day of March like that for every day we have that doesn't feel like more winter!
