District 7 AAU tourney set for Saturday in Groton

• The District 7 AAU wrestling tournament is set for Saturday, March 2, at the GHS Arena. Weigh Ins are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. with wrestling to begin around 10:30 a.m.
• Approximately 300 wrestlers plus parents, fans and coaches will converge on Groton. There are numerous weight classes in age group beginning with Tots, going to bantam, midgets, novice and schoolboy. There will also be a boys and girls division. Girls will not be wrestling boys.
• The cost of admission is $10 for each wrestler to participate, and entrance fee of $5 for adults and $3 for students.

TOTS (Born in 2007 and after) 35-40-45-50-55-HWT
• BANTAM (Born in 2006 and 2005) 40-45-50-55-60-65-70-75-80-90-HWT
• MIDGETS (Born 2004 and 2003) 50-55-60-65-70-75-80-85-90-95-103-112-120-130-HWT
• NOVICE (Born in 2002 and 2001) 60-65-70-75-80-85-90-95-100-105-112-120-130-140-HWT
• SCHOOLBOY (Born in 2000 and 1999) 70-75-80-85-90-95-100-105-110-115-120-125-130-140-150-160-180-HWT
• GIRLS: Girls Division will be handled just like the boys division. They are entered in the group at which they weighed in. They must make that same weight for the following tournaments if they qualify. Girls will not be wrestling boys.
