tense verbs, and I am expecting them to do just as well on the next test over irregular future tense verbs.  The students completed a presentation on their proposal for an amusement park in the last chapter, and for the current chapter they are creating brochures for a hotel that they would like to have in Groton.  These brochures will be presented to the class on Monday.  I believe some of them are looking forward to the cooking-themed chapter so they can make some food in class.  That will be coming up here shortly as well. 

Spanish I - Mrs. Kippley
The Spanish I students are doing a great job with memorizing all the new vocabulary words and using them in more complex sentences.  I am so glad to see how hard they work to succeed in Spanish because the ability to speak a foreign language is a valuable asset in so many professions these days.  In the next few weeks the students will be reading a few short stories written completely in Spanish, and I think they will be surprised by how much they already have learned.  This spring we will also be taking a field trip to Mazatlan restaurant in Aberdeen so the students can practice ordering in Spanish. 

Life Science - Mrs. Kippley
The seventh graders have been studying plants and their characteristics for a few weeks now.  They are also watching part of a series of videos about the diversity of plants which has been a nice change of pace for them.  Our next unit also focuses on plants, but more specifically on plant reproduction.  Following that unit we will begin our study of animals.  We begin with the most basic animal life forms and move on to the more complex animals later in the spring semester.  They are also working on their eCybermission projects which are due at the end of February.  They will all begin collecting data in the next week or two in order to finish on time.
