•      In Literature, we read The After Christmas Tree.  This was a wonderful story about a second "life" for a Christmas tree.  It was moved outdoors and decorated with popcorn garland and pinecone bird feeders.  The children in the book had a "winter party" and drank hot chocolate.  Our students drank hot chocolate with marshmallows in our classrooms!  We also read Chicken Soup with Rice by Maurice Sendak.  This book helped us learn the months of the year.  We wrote in our journals and enjoyed a cupful of chicken soup with rice.  What a great treat for these cold winter days!

•      A big thank you to Alexa Schuring for donating her time to come and assist in Mrs. Gibbs' classroom the last week before Christmas break.  She is a freshman at SDSU and was a student helper in our room last school year.  She donated her time to help us out!  Thank you , Alexa!
•      We look forward to seeing all of our Kindergarten parents on Thursday, February 7th for Parent-Teacher Conferences.  Enjoy the winter weather and stay warm!
