UMKC snaps 5-game skid, beats South Dakota 80-65

• KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Fred Chatmon scored a career-high-tying 20 points off the bench, Nate Rogers added 17 and UMKC snapped its five-game losing streak with an 80-65 win over South Dakota on Saturday.
• Chatmon was 7 of 8 from the field and added seven rebounds for the Kangaroos (7-19, 4-8 Summit League), who kept up their hot shooting from their Jan. 12 victory at South Dakota. In that game, UMKC shot a school-record 82 percent from the floor in the second half. The Kangaroos shot 54.5 percent for the game Saturday.
• Kirk Korver chipped in 15 points and Estan Tyler had 14 for UMKC, which never trailed after the opening minutes and led by as many as 17 in the second half. The Kangaroos were 12 of 24 from 3-point range and outrebounded South Dakota 34-24.
• Trevor Gruis had 17 points for the Coyotes (8-16, 4-8), who have lost four in a row.

Oakland beats South Dakota State 88-83

• ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) -- Travis Bader scored 31 points, making 9 of 16 from 3-point range, and Oakland won its fifth game in a row by defeating South Dakota State 88-83 on Saturday.
• The game was a matchup of the two players with the highest point totals in a game this season. Nate Wolters of South Dakota State, who had 53 points on Thursday night at IPFW, scored 36 against Oakland on Saturday but it wasn't enough as the Jackrabbits' eight-game winning streak ended.
