MVSU to play games in Greenville

• ITTA BENA, Miss. (AP) -- The Mississippi Valley State University baseball team will play two series at Legion Field in Greenville.
• MVSU will start off the season against Prairie View A&M on Feb. 16-17 in Greenville and will host South Dakota State March 1-3 at Legion Field. MVSU and Prairie View will play a doubleheader on Feb. 16 and 17.
• The Delta Devils will play a single game on each day from March 1-3 against South Dakota State.
• The Delta Devils have played at Legion Field on several occasions, most recently when they hosted Notre Dame in 2010.

2 died in fiery crash in western ND oil patch

• WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) -- Two people died in a fiery head-on collision of a pickup truck and a semitrailer in the western North Dakota oil patch.
• The Highway Patrol says 34-year-old pickup driver Jessie Jimison of Sidney, Mont., and 31-year-old passenger Obed Gonzales-Najar, of Espanola, New Mexico, died Sunday night when their vehicle crossed the center line on N.D. Highway 200 in McKenzie County near the Montana border and collided with the oncoming semi.
• The semi driver, 49-year-old Keith Seibert of Leola, S.D., was taken to a Sidney hospital with undisclosed injuries.
• The patrol says both vehicles caught on fire after the crash. Authorities shut down the highway for several hours late Sunday and early Monday.

SD lawmakers endorse teen driving safety measures

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- South Dakota lawmakers sought to protect young drivers Monday with a package of recommendations that would ban beginning drivers from using cellphones behind the wheel and make other changes aimed at reducing teen traffic fatalities and serious injuries.
• The Senate Transportation Committee voted 7-1 to approve a measure that would prohibit all beginning drivers from using cellphones or other electronic devices until they can get an unrestricted driver's license at age 16. At least 30 states and the District of Columbia have already banned the use of all cellphones by novice drivers.
• In 10 states and the District of Columbia, all drivers are prohibited from using
