Plans under way for special election

• The special election for the 2013 curb and gutter project will be held February 26. The council authorized for two Letters to the Editor to be published prior to the election, outlining the project, its history and objectives. Pat Larson, Rose Waage and Amy Flemmer will be the election workers for the day.
• Thus far, Roy Olson has turned in a petition for mayor. No other petitions are being circulated. Other positions up are Brett Anderson, Eddy Opp and Doug Hamilton. Petitions need to be turned in by February 22.
• A request for a family pool season ticket as a prize was approved for the elementary PAC Carnival.
• Ward Gilchrist was authorized to attend the electric superintendent's conference March 5 and 6 in Watertown.
• A report was given on the meeting with the Brown County Commissioners on Highway 12E. Jan Weismantel, Brown County Highway Superintendent, contends that it is a road to no where and has no plans to improve it.
• The garbage bid spec were reviewed. Finance Officer Anita Lowary reported that she will be sending the specs out to eight different companies.
• Scott Hanlon gave a report on the workplace violence school and Paul Kosel gave a report on the safety school.
• It was reported that Travis Kurth and Chuck Padfield will share the baseball coordinator's position this summer. The city will soon be advertising for summer help.
