Roncalli girls beat Groton

• Roncalli scored 23 points in the third quarter to pull away from Groton in girls' basketball action played last night in Aberdeen, 44-27.
• Roncalli held an 8-6 first quarter lead and a 15-12 lead at half time. The Cavaliers took a 38-22 lead into the fourth quarter.
• Regan Lewandowski and Carly Wheeting each had seven points, Camille Sippel had six, Kylie Hawkins four, Natalia Dohman two and Ashley Gibbs had one point.
• The Cavaliers were led by Mollee Karst with 15 and by Taylor Hanson with nine.
• Groton made 10 of 27 in field goals, four of nine free thorws, had 22 rebounds with Hawkins and Wheeting each having six, seven steals with Sippel and Gibbs each having two, five assists with Halle Dohman having three and 17 turnovers.
• Roncalli won the junior varsity game, 25-13. Natalia Dohman had eight points, Ashley Gibbs three and Amber Schuster and Katie Koehler each had one point.
