Silver Skates Queen Candidates

• Darac Harry is the daughter of Lisa Harry.
• She is active on the varsity soccer team and is a boys basketball cheerleader. She was a member of the school play cast and volunteers as a tutor. She works at Uptown Brown.
• She feels there have been two role models in her life. One is her grandpa, Russell Harry, because he is very intelligent and "He has taught me a lot of what I know." Her other role model is her mom. "She is an amazing woman and has accomplished so much for being a single mother."
• Darac has been skating in the Carnival of Silver Skates for 12 years. Her favorite memory in skating is "When my group was dressed up like monkeys and we performed at the Odde Ice Arena."
• After graduating from high school next year, Darac plans to attend the University of South Dakota to become a medical doctor, specializing in obstetrics and gynecology.

• Kylie Hawkins is a junior at Groton High School and is the daughter of Lance and Kristie Hawkins. She has two sisters, Katelyn and Kaycie and one brother, Kelby.
• She is very active in sports, playing volleyball, basketball and track. She is also involved with FCCLA, Startorch and the UMYF youth group.
• Kylie says her greatest role model is her mom, "Because she puts us (kids) before herself and is always attending our activities."
• She has been skating in the Carnival of Silver Skates for 12 years and her favorite memory of past Carnivals is "Doing duets with my sister Katelyn during past carnivals."
• Kylie plans to attend college after graduation and major in education.

• Mikki Kavalnaugh is the daughter of Duane and Val Kavanaugh. She has one brother, Spenser.
• She is active in Soccer, show choir, student council, yearbook, all school play and choir.
• Her greatest role model is her mom. "She got a new job in Rapid City and still manages to see me all the time. She is the coolest lady ever."
• Mikki has been skating in the Carnival "Since Kindergarten, I don't remember starting. I've just always been skating." Her favorite memory from skating in the carnival is "when my class skated to 'White Wedding'. We had a large group and only
