• Groton record is 7-5 while Oakes is 4-5. The Tigers will take on Britton-Hecla in a home game on Tuesday. "We are evenly matched with Britton-Hecla," Wanner said. "It should be a two, three or four point game. That's just the way it is when we play them. They have size and quickness, just like us."
Girls win junior varsity game
• Groton won the junior varsity game, 32-15, leading at the quarterstops at 12-5, 19-8 and 26-13.
• Scoring for Groton were Carly Wheeting with eight, Ashley Gibbs with seven, Tori Bjerke and Audrey Wanner each had four points, Natalia Dohman three and Amber Schuster and Marlee Jones each had two points.
