• "It's been a blessing to be the first Farm Family of the Year," Sombke said. "We have felt very honored to represent the Groton Chamber."
• Sombke went on to give a compilation of the events and activities the family participated in to help promote agriculture and the Groton Community. At the end of his presentation, he presented the Groton Chamber with a plaque so that future Farm Families could have their name added. It would serve a traveling trophy.
• Two other awards were presented at the meeting. The Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Jim Gerdes. With the presentation, Michelle Muilenburg read two statements praising the service Gerdes has done for the
