Clark=Willow Lake made 14 of 21 free throws for 67 percent off of Groton's 20 team fouls.
• "We're getting better as the season goes on," Kjellsen said of his team that has no seniors. Groton will host Oakes on Saturday and Kjellsen said, "I know nothing about Oakes. If we can come out and compete like we did tonight, it should be a good game."
• Groton's junior varsity team would make four of eight free throws in the closing minute as the Cyclones would hang on to win that game, 36-34. Kyler Ell led all scorers with 17 points followed by Luke Sternhagen with seven, Jackson Doeden four, and Wyatt Larson, Gabe Dohman and Matt Knecht each had two points.
