Spearfish man found dead near abandoned vehicle

• SPEARFISH, S.D. (AP) -- Authorities have released the name of a 23-year-old Spearfish man found dead over the weekend a short distance from his abandoned vehicle.
• Lawrence County chief deputy Joe Harmon says a snowplow operator found the body of Jerald Krejci on Saturday. The man's vehicle had become stuck after sliding off a private road northwest of Spearfish.
• An autopsy is being conducted and the death is under investigation.
• A strong winter storm passed through the region on Friday and Saturday, but investigators have not determined Krejci's time of death.

University of South Dakota now smoke free

• VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) -- The University of South Dakota campus is now smoke free.
• The school announced in September that the USD Executive Committee voted to ban smoking on campus effective Jan. 9. The USD's Student Government had earlier passed a smoking ban resolution, which the Faculty Senate also endorsed.
• Officials said at the time that while the university wanted to be fair to everyone, smoking is a health issue. They said that it is the university's responsibility to ensure the campus promotes a healthy lifestyle.
• Smoking previously was not allowed indoors or within 25 feet of university buildings on campus.

Wild Card game increasing starting jackpots

• HELENA, Mont. (AP) -- The Wild Card lottery game is making some changes, including doubling the starting jackpot to $200,000 while decreasing the odds of winning.
• The lottery game is available in Montana, Idaho, North Dakota and South Dakota. The new rules start with Wednesday's drawing.
• Players will now choose five numbers between 1 and 33, instead of 31, and
