Strong winter storm blanketing the Dakotas

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- Gusty winds, blowing snow and below freezing temperatures have blanketed western South Dakota.
• The Black Hills Pioneer reports that up to 6 inches of snow accumulated Friday in the Northern Black Hills.
• Winter weather advisories remain in effect for most of western South Dakota on Saturday. In North Dakota, wind chill advisories are in effect for western North Dakota while a blizzard warning covers the northeastern portion of the state.
• Many schools and events were cancelled Friday in both Dakotas. The Rapid City Journal reports that Mount Rushmore National Memorial closed at 11 a.m. Friday and will have a two-hour late start Saturday, opening at 10 a.m.

6 suspects arrested in another gang rape of a bus passenger in India

• NEW DELHI (AP) -- Police say six men have been arrested in another gang rape of a bus passenger in India, four weeks after a deadly attack on a student on a moving bus in the capital outraged Indians and led to calls for tougher rape laws.
• Police say a 29-year-old woman was traveling on a bus to her village in northern Punjab state on Friday and was the only passenger. The driver and conductor allegedly drove her to a desolate location and took her to a nearby building where they were joined by five friends and raped her repeatedly.
• Police say they arrested six suspects on Saturday and are searching for another.
• The brutal rape of a student on a New Delhi bus in December set off an impassioned debate about what India needs to do to prevent such tragedies.
