Low pressure will move out of the Rockies today and into Minnesota by this evening. This system will spread snow and gusty winds across the Northern Plains this afternoon and overnight. Accumulations of 6 inches or more are possible across north central South Dakota, with lesser amounts across southern and eastern South Dakota. Strong northwest winds will create blowing and drifting snow as well, creating low visibility for many locations, especially along and west of the James River.
