Winds will switch to the south southwest this afternoon and temperatures will rise to near or above normal values. Tonight a cold front will work its way into the region. Ahead of the front southwesterly winds will become gusty for areas along and east of the prairie coteau. Winds of 25 to 30 mph with gusts in excess of 40 mph are possible through the overnight hours. Areas of blowing or drifting snow may occur with the strongest winds.
