Vermillion woman claims $10K Hot Lotto prize

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- A Vermillion woman has claimed a $10,000 prize from Wednesday's Hot Lotto drawing.
• South Dakota lottery officials say Shannon Buum's ticket matched all five white ball numbers but missed the Hot Ball to win the game's second prize.
• Buum bought her winning ticket at the HyVee on North Broadway in Yankton. The store will receive a $1,000 bonus for the sale.
• Hot Lotto is played in 14 states and the District of Columbia. The odds of winning the second prize are one in about 608,000.
• The jackpot for Saturday's drawing sits at $8.72 million.

Sanford Health buys biotech company Hematech

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Dakotas-based Sanford Health says it has acquired Sioux Falls-based biotech company Hematech.
• Hematech is a subsidiary of Japanese pharmaceutical company Kyowa Hakko Kirin Co. Ltd. Sanford Health is based in Sioux Falls, S.D., and Fargo, N.D.
• Sanford says the new company will be rebranded Sanford Applied Biosciences LLC. Terms of the Dec. 31 deal were not disclosed.
• Sanford senior executive vice president Dave Link says Hematech has been conducting cutting-edge research in Sioux Falls for more than a decade. Links says that by coming together, Sanford can build on Hematech's expertise and technology and bring about new solutions to serious health issues.
• Hematech occupies more than 20,000 square feet of laboratory and office space in the Sioux Falls Technology Park.

Report on Nebraska pipeline route goes to governor

• LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- A state evaluation of TransCanada's new route for the Keystone XL oil pipeline through Nebraska has been sent to Gov. Dave Heineman, who will have 30 days to review it before sharing his decision with the state and the U.S. State Department.
• The more than 2,000 pages include no recommendations from the Department of Environmental Quality, which began accumulating comments in April, held four public informational meetings, conferred with the project developer and conducted a final public hearing in December.
• The State Department has federal jurisdiction because the pipeline begins in
