Grapplers split at dual action

• Groton's wrestling team went to Britton Thursday night where the Tigers lost to Webster Area, 64-13 but then came back to beat Britton-Hecla/Langford, 40-24.
• Coach Christopher Kucker had the following thoughts from last night: "I thought we wrestled good against Webster. We made some mistakes but mentally I think we were in the match. I didn't feel that we wrestled as hesitant as we did the first time we faced Webster. We were more aggressive and were at least trying to accomplish the little things we have been working on in practice. I still am concerned about our overall shape on the mat. We will be working on that in the upcoming weeks.
•  "I thought we wrestled Britton much better. We had a couple of nice surprise wins that made up some huge points for us as a team. We told the kids that it was important to pin and not get pinned and that's what they did. It was a fun dual to watch.
•  "We are off to the Miller Tournament this weekend which will test us very well. There are a couple of teams in the tournament this year that are very solid. We will have to show our best wrestling if we want to repeat last years runner up honors. I am excited to see if the kids are up to the challenge.:
