• SIOUX CITY, S.D. (AP) -- The Maine Red Claws grounded the Sioux Falls Skyforce behind DaJuan Summers' season-high 22 points and 12 rebounds.
• Playing in South Dakota Friday night, Maine outscored Sioux Falls 35-21 in the third quarter to break open a close game and improved to 6-1 on the road.
• Maine led by as many as 22 points in the second half, but Sioux Falls would only get as close as nine points in the final quarter as the Skyforce dropped its third straight home game.
• Sixers assignee Arnett Moultrie had his best game in Skyforce uniform with 18 points and five rebounds.

Grant awarded for development of new SD state park

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- The South Dakota Community Foundation is providing a $10,000 grant to help develop a new state park at the Blood Run National Historic Landmark near Sioux Falls.
• The grant goes to the South Dakota Parks and Wildlife Foundation, which is working with the state Game, Fish and Parks Department to purchase land and finance development of the park.
• Blood Run, located on the Big Sioux River, was named a National Historic Landmark in 1970 because it is one of the oldest places of long-term human habitation in America.
• The site was used by thousands of Oneota Indians into the early 1700s. It includes a large oak forest, rolling hills, flood plains and riverside bluffs.
• The South Dakota Community Foundation makes grants for non-profit, charitable and scholarship purposes.

Despite drought, corn yields high for some farmers

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- Despite the severe drought, some South Dakota farmers who entered an annual contest had some of the highest corn yields in history this past year.
• The contest is for members of the National Corn Growers Association.
