Heat assign Pittman to D-League's Sioux Falls

• CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra says the team has assigned center Dexter Pittman to the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA's Development League.
• Spoelstra says the move will give the second-year player from Texas more time to develop.
• Pittman has played in only four games this season for the Heat and is averaging 1.5 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.
• Miami has not filled his roster spot.

Man in standoff could face kidnapping charge

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Turner County Sheriff Byron Nogelmeier says a man taken into custody Monday after a 13-hour standoff at a Marion home could be charged with kidnapping.
• Nogelmeier tells KSFY-TV (http://bit.ly/WH6FvY ) that the 32-year-old man is not yet facing charges for the standoff because he is being held in the state prison for violating parole. But the sheriff says charges could be filed later this week, and the man could face kidnapping charges.
