• Reilly Ell and Mason Madsen each had a double-double as Groton Area defeated Redfield-Doland in boys basketball action Thursday night, 59-52.
• Ell had 19 points and 11 rebounds and Madsen had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Others adding to the tally were Kasey Kurtz with eight, Wyatt Lone and Parker Rossow each had six, Jackson Doeden five, Luke Sternhagen three and Kyler Ell added two points.
• Redfield-Doland made 35 percent of its field goals while Groton made 41 percent. The Pheasants were nine of 20 from the line off of the Tigers' 16 team fouls and the Tigers were 15 of 21 from the line off of Redfield-Doland's 18 team fouls.
