• Groton may soon have a paper recycling program. The company based in Iowa that has a trailer in Aberdeen and Webster, is interested in placing a trailer in Groton. As it is the company's busiest time of the year, the trailer may not arrive until after the first of the year.
• Groton school Superintendent Laura Schuster reported that the Federal Government has taken notice of all the complaints on the new school lunch program guidelines and has made some adjustments. They have relaxed the grains/meat allotment, but not the calorie intake. Schuster also said that she thinks more changes will be made in the future.
• Approval was given to accept the resignation s of Charity Rintala and Angela Gleason. Becky Sjerven's work agreement adjustment was also approved.
• Drake Patterson and Lauren Wheeting were approved as volunteer assistant coaches to the basketball programs. Patterson coaches the boys' team and Wheeting the girls' team.
