• Jackley says results from a Mountain Plains Evaluation study show that less than 1 percent of about 1 million test results studied were recorded as either "failed" or a "no show."
• Another recent independent study concluded that the sobriety program has reduced repeat cases of driving under the influence by 12 percent and domestic violence rates by 9 percent.
• The program has expanded to include alcohol-monitoring bracelets and interlock devices installed on vehicle ignition systems.

DWU president leaving to take job at Pa. school

• MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) -- The president of Dakota Wesleyan University is leaving to take a job at a Pennsylvania university.
• The school announced in a news release that Bob Duffett will leave DWU next year to become president of Eastern University in St. Davids, Pa.
• During his time at DWU, Duffett oversaw the fundraising, construction and dedication of the McGovern Library. He also led major renovations projects on campus, among other things.
• Duffett says his time at the university has been the highlight of his higher education career.
• Duffett and DWU Board of Trustees chairman Brad Pratt will address the school community on Tuesday.

Ambulance-pickup crash kills Mobridge man

• MOBRIDGE, S.D. (AP) -- A Mobridge man is dead after a crash involving an ambulance.
• The South Dakota Highway Patrol says 45-year-old Lynnard Spiry Jr. died late Sunday afternoon when the pickup truck he was riding in slid out of control and into the path of the ambulance on U.S. Highway 12 east of Mobridge.
• Authorities say the ambulance was returning from a transport and was not carrying patients. The driver and a passenger suffered minor injuries, as did the driver of the pickup.
