to the reality of actually creating this treasure and submitting the order.  I was very optimistic.  This site was a piece of cake to navigate according to Allison.  She did make it look very user friendly so there was absolutely no doubt in my mind I was in for some smooth sailing!  Well, once I got to the site there was a tiny glitch.  It was no big deal really.  It was actually kind of funny!   It wouldn't believe I was who I said I was and appeared to like my niece better.  It took a lot of button clicking to finally convince it that I was who I said I was and that my niece is nice and all but she has her own log in and password!  Now I was sure to start making some progress.  Choose your book style, click, choose your book size, click, get photos, click, oh, I'm on a roll!  Would you like us to create your book and let you make changes as necessary?  Yes….uncomfortable pause…..yes….finally "building your book" appeared on the screen.  That message stayed there for a long time.  Once I woke up from my 3 hour nap it appeared the book builders had also taken a nap and nothing magical happened.  By this time I was losing just a smidgeon of my patience but decided to simply start over.  There must have been a tiny little technical issue, no big deal.  The second attempt will get the job done!  This time the book builders did accomplish something but what I saw as I turned the virtual pages was rather disturbing.  There were pictures turned sideways and adding text became more work than it was worth and after each edit I got to wait around 3 minutes for things to "sink in."  Going into day three, I had a lot of confidence.  I had wracked up some experience now and I was sure I'd need the debit card because soon I'd be heading to the "checkout!" Its several days later now and numerous attempts to create the book have been made.  The book is not in print.  I have experienced more stress and created more new words to describe frustration than I ever thought I could and a nice sampler from Hickory Farms is appearing to be the "perfect" gift for the unknowing book recipient!
• Diane Darnell and her daughter Stacy Darnell of Aurora Colorado were recent visitors in the Claremont area.  They were here to spend Thanksgiving with Diane's parents and brother, Bob and Betty Stanley and Steve Stanley.  Stacy, Bob and Betty's Granddaughter, works as an LPN at a nursing home in Aurora.
• I guess I'm no different than the carpenter that has a house that needs new windows or the plumber with a leaking faucet as I am a reporter of news and I forgot to mention that our family had a very nice Thanksgiving.  Those gathered around the table this year were Marie Patterson, Don and Becky Wegleitner, April Wegleitner, Allison Wegleitner and Dan Hamik of Worthing, Jr Patterson and of course, myself.  We ate too much, we laughed a lot and my clever nieces figured out a way to get me out of doing the dishes!  It was a great day!
