Groton Garden Club

The Groton Garden Club  met at the home of Linda Gengerke with Renee McKiver assisting. The meeting opened with the pledges. Members answered roll call with their favorite Thanksgiving food. Janice Fliehs reported taking the rules for the Smokey Bear-Woodsy Owl poster contest to the elementary school teachers. The posters will be due before Christmas vacation. Plans for the annual Christmas party were finalized. It will be December 8, at the home of Suzy McNamara. The potluck luncheon will be at 12:30, following by Christmas readings. The next meeting will be January 21, at 5:30 p.m. at the home of Bev Sombke.

Rip'N Ravel

Maralyn Hoops hosted Rip'N Ravel CFEL on November 5th. at her home. Members answered roll call by indicating if they had taken the flu shot. Flag salute and pledges were given. The Reflections were read and items hosted. The city office will be contacted about a Christmas family. The lesson, "Senior Resource Fair" was given by Merry Jo Ball and Ella Johnson. Ella demonstrated exercises to improve balance to avoid falls. The group discussed the amendments on the election ballot to better understand them before voting. Linda Gengerke will entertain the group for the December meeting at her home at 1:30 p.m. on December 3rd. Each member is asked to bring a reading and an exchange gift.
