employee from the employee's boyfriend. They say Tyrone Smith killed Connors, then held his girlfriend and her co-workers hostage inside the Cost Cutters Salon for about a half hour before killing himself.
• The salon on Monday raised more than $3,000 in donated haircutting proceeds that will go toward the scholarship fund in Connors' honor at the Stewart School of cosmetology. The salon will match up to $2,000.

SD pursuit ends with Kansas man in custody

• ALPENA, S.D. (AP) -- A pursuit involving personnel from five different counties and the South Dakota Highway Patrol ended with a Kansas man in custody after the vehicle he was driving crashed in a field west of Alpena.
• Jerauld County Sheriff Jason Weber initiated the pursuit about 9:30 a.m. Monday after receiving a report that a person driving a North Dakota-plated pickup had taken diesel fuel from a farm yard. The pursuit ended eight miles west of Alpena in a field when the driver of the pickup crashed the car into a creek.
• The driver, a 47-year-old man from Lansing, Kan., was taken into custody. Authorities say the man has felony warrants from Kansas.
• The Jerauld County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation.

3 bodies recovered in central Utah plane wreckage

• FILLMORE, Utah (AP) -- Searchers in central Utah recovered three bodies from wreckage believed to be that of a Wyoming-bound plane that went missing while returning from a Thanksgiving visit in California, authorities said Monday.
• Rescuers spotted the wreckage Sunday about 15 miles from Fillmore, where the plane made a refueling stop on Nov. 25 shortly before disappearing from radar, Sevier County Sheriff Nathan Curtis said.
• The plane apparently flew into the side of a mountain, but there weren't obvious signs indicating why it crashed, Curtis said.
• Last week, the Campbell County Sheriff's Office told the Deseret News the people aboard the missing plane were pilot Matthew Ahrens, 37, of Bakersfield, Calif., his girlfriend Trista Meyer, 34, and Meyer's 9-year-old daughter, Shyann Lenz, both from Rozet, Wyo.
• The Sevier County sheriff has not officially released the identities of the people whose bodies were found in the wreckage.
• "I talked to a police officer on the scene that was bringing my baby in from the
