• He presently serves on the Drake University Law School board of counselors, the New Leaders Council board of directors and is a member of the American Agricultural Law Association, American Bar Association, American Simmental Association, Pheasants Forever, and the South Dakota Simmental Association.
•  "South Dakota Farmers Union has always been a leader in Pierre and in Washington, D.C.," Traxinger said. "I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to work on behalf of South Dakota's farmers and ranchers. I look forward to making a positive difference for South Dakota agriculture."

• Traxinger will work in Pierre during the legislative session and will work with legislative policy and membership development throughout the year. His first day at Farmers Union was Oct. 29.
