SDSU hosting FCS playoff game Saturday

• BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -- South Dakota State University is hosting its first ever Football Championship Subdivision playoff game on Saturday.
• The 8-3 Jackrabbits will take on 7-4 Eastern Illinois at 2 p.m. CST at Coughlin-Alumni Stadium.
• SDSU, with its 31-8 win over South Dakota last weekend, has moved up two spots in the rankings to No. 19.
• The winner of Saturday's game will face the defending national champion -- top ranked North Dakota State. The Bison finished the regular season 10-1 and drew a first-round bye.

Lead's Terry Peak hopes to open Dec. 1

• LEAD, S.D. (AP) -- Owners of a popular Black Hills ski resort are looking at a tentative opening date of Dec. 1.
• Recent warm temperatures at Terry Peak have put the snowmakers on hold, but the owners of the Lead (LEED) resort say they'll be ready to restart the machines as soon as the weather cooperates.
• Terry Peak typically hopes to open the day after Thanksgiving.
• The resort was open 111 days during the 2011-2012 season, as more than 122 inches of snow covered the mountain from December to early April.
• The resort's highest summit stands at 7,076 feet.

Myles, South Dakota defeat Culver-Stockton 81-73

• VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) -- Juevol Myles scored 24 points, including 5 of 6 shots from 3-point range, and South Dakota defeated Culver-Stockton College 81-73 on Friday night.
• South Dakota (2-3) also got 16 points and 10 rebounds from Trevor Gruis and 13 points from Karim Rowson.
• Marshaun Norris scored 23 points and dished out six assists for Culver-Stockton (4-2), and Mario Gulley scored 13 points.
