WALKING WITH A LIMP

• Dr. Charles Schuller, long time pastor of the Crystal Cathedral, his wife and daughter were traveling together on an ocean cruise. Dr. and Mrs. Schuller decided to attend a talent show one afternoon. They wanted to take their daughter, Carol, along with them but thought that she was in her room sleeping and did not want to disturb her. So, they decided to go alone.
• As they were watching one contestant after another perform, they were surprised when Carole appeared on stage. Carole lost her leg in an accident and wears an artificial limb. They knew that she did not sing and could not dance, so they wondered what she would do.
• Finally, after all of the contestants did their routine, Carol was presented to the crowd. She stood quietly for a moment and then said, "I know what my talent is, but I owe you an explanation." She went on to tell of her accident and the amputation.
• She ended her "performance" with the words: "I wish I could walk without a limp, but I can't. However, it's not how you walk that counts, but Who walks with you and with Whom you walk. Jesus walks with me and I walk with Him; and I'm happy!"
• In His closing remarks Jesus said, "And be sure of this; I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
• How blest we are to know He is with us. Always!
Prayer: Father, we are humbled and honored to know that You are always beside us - in sunlight or shadows, on good days or bad ones. May we always remain close to You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Scripture for Today: Matthew 28:20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
