South Dakota State beats Tennessee State 78-71

• BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -- Nate Wolters scored 22 points and Jordan Dykstra nailed four 3-point shots as South Dakota State held on to keep in front of Tennessee State 78-71 on Tuesday night in its home opener.
• Wolters was 6 of 11 from the field and made all 10 of his free throws to lead the Jackrabbits. Dykstra added 18 points and made 4 of 5 at 3-point range. He was 5 of 8 from the field. Chad White added 11 points, including three 3-pointers. Tony Fiegen had 10 points and nine rebounds.
• South Dakota State (1-1) had a 42-27 lead at halftime.
• Robert Covington had 23 points, including three 3-pointers, and 11 rebounds for the Tigers (0-2). Patrick Miller had 12 points and Jordan Cyphers added 10, including two 3-point shots.
• The Jackrabbits have an 18-game winning streak at Frost Arena.

AG: Officers justified in trooper assault case

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- The South Dakota Attorney General's Office says three officers were justified in shooting at a suspect during a chase last month in Sioux Falls.
• The Attorney General's Office and the Division of Criminal Investigation released their findings Tuesday into the shooting of Rachel Coleman on Oct. 17.
• Authorities say Coleman hit Highway Patrol trooper Andrew Steen with her vehicle during a chase before Steen and others fired at her. Steen is still recovery from the incident.
• The investigation found that Steen, Lincoln County Deputy Aaron Bartscher and Lincoln County Deputy Tom Krull were justified in firing their weapons a total of 23 times. Coleman was struck at least three times, including in her back and arm.
• Coleman faces several charges, including attempted murder and aggravated assault against an officer
