• When nobleman Roger Goodman (played by Alec Voss) overhears his love Sarah Huffington (played by Darac Harry) telling her friends she wants more excitement in her life, Roger decides to abandon his life of comfort and become the pirate Sarah's been dreaming of. With the help of Long John Sliver (played by Devon Poppen) and his trusty servant George (played by Lincoln Lane), Roger does just that, becoming Captain Blood. Little does he know, Sarah has already decided to take matters into her own hands and become the Pirate Queen. Sarah's parents (played by Mason Madsen and Cheyenne Schaller) would disapprove, except they are out trying to capture the infamous pirate Captain Bluebeard (played by Jacob Donley). When they all end up on Treasure Island, its sword fights, treasure hunts, and laughs aplenty
• Tickets at the door are $8 for students and $10 for adults. Advance tickets ($6 for students and $8 for adults) can be purchased at the Groton Area High School, Lori's Pharmacy, and the Olde Bank Floral 'N More. Limited Concessions will be available.
• The production features Groton Area students grades 6-12.

• As I sit down at my computer pondering what I should type before I actually get into the "news" I can't help but think about all the things I can add to my "thankful for" list just from this past week.  I learned some new things at my job, I've met some new people,  I've been forgiven when I had to change my plans,  I received an email from a wonderful friend that I hadn't talked to for quite some time and I cooked this weekend and it's been awhile and everything turned out great!  At least I think things were ok as everyone that ate what I made yesterday still looked pretty good today!  I guess I'm all practiced up now to prepare the Thanksgiving feast for my family this year.  Years ago when I was sort of new at cooking I'll never forget the disasters I had making gravy.  I was bound and determined to use corn starch instead of flour but I am quite sure I didn't do the research I most likely should have as to how much corn starch was needed to thicken the gravy and in a minute you will understand why.  I believe I used about ½ to Ύ cup and as the ingredients began to cook, things were looking pretty good.  It started to thicken quite nicely but at some point the thickness took an unexpected turn.  It began to get very….very….very thick.  I believe that was a year our turkey went without gravy as the gravy had be
