on Saturday. Girl's 4th, 5th and 6th grade teams from as far away as Huron, Hamlin, and Edgeley, ND will compete.
• "It has been some time since PAC has hosted a girl's jamboree," Vicci Stange, event chairman, said. "We host the boy's jamboree annually every March."
• Although the elementary PAC hosts the event, it takes many volunteers to make the event work.
• "PAC runs the event with the support and help from many, I repeat many volunteers, including parents and community," Stange said. "It has been a very successful fund-raiser for the PAC.
• The proceeds from the jamboree go forward to fund several different things that affect basically everyone in the elementary in some way.  PAC has helped fill the gaps left by the education cut backs.
•  Here is a list of things PAC has used the proceeds for: ball chairs for kindergarten and first grade, elementary field trips, inflatable events, color ink cartridge each year ($1000.00), AR t-shirts, 'math problem of the week' prizes, Dakota Step test prizes (laptops and kindle), summer library, individual headphones in the computer lab, school assemblies, South Dakota children's theatre and the annual movie license which allows movies to be shown in the classrooms.
• Elementary PAC holds other fund-raising events throughout the year including: the boy's jamboree and elementary carnival.
• As stated above, PAC sponsors many events and is always looking for new members.
• "We welcome new members at any time," Stange said. "Anyone wishing to join to help with planning events or just doing the monthly business, we meet monthly. Our next meeting will be at the Elementary school in the teacher's lounge on January 13 at 6:30 to look at planning the Elementary Carnival and discuss the upcoming Children's Theatre in March.
