• Groton School Superintendent Laura Schuster read a letter from Clark Engineering stating the summer street project was completed. She also reviewed for the board members the impact to education resulting from the recent election.
• "With the two ballots being rejected by the voters", Schuster said. "Education is still about $300 per student below 2009 levels, and I don't see any changes resulting from this year's legislative session."
• Schuster also informed the board members about the proposal to fund open gyms at the school this winter.
• "We are looking at about eight Sundays to open the gym, broke into two sessions, one session for the elementary aged students and one for the high school students," Schuster said. "Our idea to fund the open gyms is to have some split pots and some basketball shoots for pop during a few games."
• Schuster estimated that between $600 and $700 were needed to fund the open gyms. She has one person who may be interested in supervising the open gyms already in mind.
• The board moved into executive session to discuss student issues.
