October was National Breast Cancer Awareness month in conjunction with that, the Groton Area held its 2nd Annual Event. At the home game against Mobridge on October 5th, the football players used bright pink athletic tape, and had breast cancer ribbons o there football helmets, the cheerleaders wore pink bows and socks. At

the home volleyball game against Sisseton on October 11th, players wore pink jerseys and pink socks. At both events several pink breast cancer items were sold. The volleyball game was the main event, holding a silent auction raffle, and  bake sale. The fundraiser was a
