A LESSON FROM DOMINOS

• If you stand dominos on their narrow end and place them in a long row or fancy design, they will remain as you leave them. But if you nudge one of them with a finger, they will all fall in succession - one after another.
• Now, if you pick up the first one, will the others rise with it? No. They remain as they were. Each one has to be lifted by itself.
• Life, strange to say, is similar to a row of dominos. It is easier to knock people down than it is to lift them up. When we lose sight of the impact we have on others by living inconsistent Christian lives, we easily "knock" them down in defeat.
• Paul reminds us that "whatever we do or say is to be as though we are a representative of the Lord Jesus" - which indeed we are. As representatives of His Kingdom on earth everything we do is to bring honor to His name every moment of every day!
• The words we speak and the way we act are examples to those whom God places in our lives for particular purposes. Nothing happens in His kingdom by accident. And as His representative each of us is responsible to Him for whatever we do.
• Pause for a moment and ask this question: Are the words I speak or the ways I act bringing honor to the Lord? Are the words that come out of my mouth lifting people up or knocking them down? Are the ways I act drawing people to Christ or driving them away?
Prayer: Help us, Heavenly Father, to be aware of the fact that the words we speak or the ways we act all represent You and Your Kingdom. May we become more like Christ. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Scripture for Today: Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
