2-wave storm bearing down on North Dakota

• BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- Parts of northern North Dakota could see a foot or more of snow by the end of the weekend.
• The National Weather Service says a storm is bearing down on the Northern Plains from the Rockies, and will hit in two waves. The first wave is expected to hit northwest and north central North Dakota on Thursday night and continue into Friday, and the second wave late Friday through Sunday morning is forecast to dump more snow.
• Southern areas in the west and central parts of North Dakota could see snow, sleet and freezing rain. The wintry mix could extend into parts of South Dakota.

SD airmen return from duty in Southwest Asia

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Twenty-seven South Dakota Air National Guard soldiers have returned home after six months of duty in Southwest Asia.
• The members of the 114th Security Forces Squadron who left for the mission in April flew into Sioux Falls on Wednesday. They were greeted by about 100 people.
• The airman provided security and law enforcement services at an undisclosed location.


Former foreign adviser to speak in Sioux Falls

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- A former adviser to Secretaries of State Condoleezza Rice and Hillary Clinton is scheduled to speak in Sioux Falls Thursday evening on the relationship between U.S. foreign policy and the technological revolution.
• Jared Cohen will appear at Augustana College as part of the Boe Forum on Public Affairs.
• He's currently the director of Google Ideas and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
• Past Boe Forum speakers include former President George H.W. Bush, former
