more real to them.   In Social Studies, students have learned about the geography of their nation and are moving into lessons on Native Americans.
• Sometime this year students will start D.A.R.E. education.  D.A.R.E. is a 10 week program taught once a week by our law enforcement officers to educate students about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.  Later in the school year, the students will have a graduation ceremony to celebrate their accomplishment of finishing their studies.
• It will be a busy and exciting year.

Physical Education - Lynette Grieve
• This first nine weeks of school have been great for having P.E. outside.  The super weather and fresh air rejuvenates us for our next set of afternoon classes.  The kindergarten, first, and second graders have had all but a couple Physical Education classes outside since the first day of school.
• We have enjoyed playing kickball, soccer, Pom-Pom Pull-Away, and Helping Hands Tag.  We have also learned how and practiced throwing a Frisbee to a partner and into a target.  The couple times we were inside we played Corner Kickball.
• We are all hoping that this nice weather lasts for a few more weeks (or months) so we can continue having our Physical Education classes outside.

GRASP (OST) - Whitney Daly
• The GRASP students have been super busy with various projects and activities. October is National Anti-Bullying month; therefore, we focused our projects and activities around anti-bullying. The students really enjoyed all the different anti-bullying role playing, anti-bullying posters, and short videos on anti-bullying that we did. We also have been enjoying all the season changes. We went on a leaf hunt, played in the leaves, made various leaf projects and created pumpkin stories. This week we are focusing on the jungle. We made some torn paper parrots and researched fun facts about the jungle on the computer. The students enjoy all the variety of activities we do. They go out for recess, make projects, watch movies, participate in gym activities, and research or play games on the computer.
•  Each week the GRASP students will be involved in many different activities and projects. We always focus our weekly events around the current events happening in our world. This is a great opportunity for all students to get involved in the community and get to know each other.
