ing, number writing and counting.  Of course we have "fun" centers, too - we have had a doctor's office, fire station, bakery, and grocery store to play in.  Our block center has had dinosaurs, farm equipment, cars and roads, and garages.  We get to listen to books in our book center and there are always puzzles to do, too!  Add in some science experiments, art, music, library, social studies and healthy kids activities --- phew, no wonder our days seem so full.
• We love having visitors and hope that you will come in and visit us, but if you do, be prepared for a busy day full of inquisitive learners! 

1st Grade - Shauna Deiter & Emily Eichler
• Greetings from the first grade Oscars and Emmys! Our year began in true Hollywood fashion as our students and parents arrived to our First Grade Open House on red "carpet". We have been very busy learning new routines and skills each day. One thing much different this year is that the students are sitting on stability balls instead of our regular classroom chairs. We worked very hard to earn the ball chairs and will continue working hard to keep them. A HUGE thank you goes to the Elementary PAC for purchasing the stability balls for us!
• In reading, we have already learned 52 high-frequency words, learned to identify nouns, use possessives, use punctuation, blend words, identify different genres of stories, and determine the main idea and details of a story. We also build, read, and
