• Most of the U.S. is expected to experience fairly tranquil weather to close out this work week. Snow in the Northern Plains and around the Great Lakes will be one exception, but no significant accumulations are expected. Also, a powerful low pressure system in the northeast Pacific will bring strong winds to much of southern Alaska through Friday, but the strongest winds will remain offshore.
