•Family services for Bernice Fliehs, 84, of Groton will be 4 p.m., Sunday, October 28 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Groton.  The Rev. Craig Grams will officiate.  Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen.
• Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to services on Sunday.
• Bernice died October 25, 2012 at Golden Living Center, Groton.

Rich and Dee Helmer and their son Nicolas of Geneva, Ill. were recent weekend guests  of his mother, LaVonne Helmer. They visited their sister and family, Pam Merkel, also. On Sunday luncheon guests were: Bruce and Pam Merkel, Andover; Brett Merkel, and Hayley Spitzer, Groton and Dan and Cheryl Wold and Jordan of Carrington, ND. On Friday night with the exception of the Wolds, they  attended a play at NSU.
