• The exercise shows firemen the heat-absorbing capability of water and the protection offered by water fog streams. The firemen use a fog stream from two separate hoses. The stream is crossed while focused on the fire. This pushes the heat away from the firemen.

• The exercise also enforces the need to work as a team. Two groups of firefighters move in behind the fog stream to reach the turn-off valve or to perform a rescue.
