Burn ban

•  Due to the dry conditions and a weather forecast calling for strong winds, a bad combination for fire control, an emergency burn ban has been issued throughout Brown County. The ban was enacted by the Brown County Emergency Management Office in Aberdeen.
• According to Groton Fire Chief Dion Bahr, the ban will be in effect for most of the week.
• "The ban started Tuesday at 10 pm," Bahr said. "It will remain in effect until 6 pm Friday night."
• The ban prohibits or restricts all types of open burning.
