• Luke Smith, Jasmine Schaller and Hannah Lewandowski will advance to the state cross country meet October 20 in Huron. The regional meet was held this week in Webster. The top 20 runners advance to the state.
• Luke Smith placed 18th in the boy's division, running the 5,000 meter course in 19:05. Jasmine Schaller placed 13th in the girl's division, running the 3,000 meter course in 17:19 and Hannah Lewandowski placed 19th with a time of 17:41.
• Other's running for Groton were Erin Smith in 34th place and a time of 20:26; Ellie Harms placing 38th with a time of 21:01 and Jenifer Fjelstad placing 40th with a time of 23:24.
