Enrollment at 588

• Groton School Board members had a short meeting on Monday with only a few items on the amended agenda.
• The final enrollment numbers are in, there 588 students in the district. Due to a couple of families moving out of the district last week, the numbers are down from the last board meeting.
• The information about the 2011-2012 state testing results and the state report card was sent to parents in the district last week.
• "Our students did really well," Groton Superintendent Laura Schuster said. "Their scores were very good."
• Members reviewed and discussed the ASBSD recommendations for resolutions for the 2012-2013 legislative session. School funding as one of the top priorities for the Groton School District.
• The resignation of Desiree Gonsoir as a kindergarten para-professional was approved with her last day on October 10.
• The board moved into executive session to discuss student issues.
